Kamal is a conflict and peace-building expert, working in crisis mediation, leadership and negotiation. His advisory focuses on leadership insight, strategic planning, emotional intelligence, and critical decision-making, informed by fieldwork in conflict zones.

An entrepreneur and investor in startups, Kamal has also advised governments and organisations in high-stake negotiations in Asia, Europe, North Africa and North America. Kamal has also facilitated dialogues between governments and opposition groups, developing programs that serve as constructive alternatives to militancy.

Kamal has shared his insights at Harvard University, Georgetown University, the London School of Economics, the University of Chicago, Casa Arabe in Spain, the Stimson Center, the National Endowment for Democracy, and the Middle East Institute in Washington D.C.
