Kamal specialises in conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and crisis mediation. His expertise lies in leadership development, strategic negotiation, and fostering collaborative solutions in complex conflict environments. He currently leads Dialogue Action's efforts in several countries, driving initiatives focused on conflict resolution, policy dialogue, and community resilience.

Between 2014 and 2018, Kamal led peacebuilding efforts in Syria's northwest through Insight Into Crisis. He focused on facilitating dialogue among local stakeholders and sponsoring humanitarian projects, as well as promoting agreements to reduce violence and advising on community-led de-radicalisation initiatives.

As an entrepreneur and investor in startups, Kamal holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and advises governments and international organisations on high-stakes negotiations. His work across Asia, Europe, North Africa, and North America has facilitated dialogues between governments and opposition groups, helping to design initiatives that offer constructive alternatives to militancy.
